Data Analyst

What do you do in your role at The Next Step?

In my role as a TNS Analyst, I do the visualizations for the Dashboard Project. I review and validate data to produce visualizations that highlight high-valued information for TNS and its clients. The team’s goal is to make strategic dashboards that help make better and accurate decisions.

How/when did you first become interested in this type of work?

I’ve always love data manipulation in Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau; you name it. All work that relates to data analytics: I’m on board. I was a Business Intelligence Analyst in Davivienda Bank for three years, so the relationship with analysis, trends, strategic decks, and helping senior management make better decisions began there. Now I work in a PMO managing project portfolios and strategic planning and wanted to return to the data analysis world. TNS culture and environment also call my attention. A young and professional company that wants to change how to make things different excites me and goes with my life philosophy.

What aspect your job brings you the most satisfaction?

Seeing a validated, coherent, minimalist, well-designed, helpful in making decisions, and automatic dashboard. For the dashboards to be a core tool that helps in every-day work.

If you have a pet, what do you most enjoy about them?

I have a four months black Labrador. His name is Bono (As in “good” in Italian and as a Rockstar – U2 frontman). I like that the energy that he has and that he’s always happy no matter what. I like spending time with him, going for a walk, and the art of teaching how to behave inside the house (That last part is a challenge, but I enjoy it)

How do you like to spend your free time?

I love playing tennis and ride motorcycles. My few free time that I have I spend it playing tennis tournaments. Sometimes we win, and sometimes we lose, but the satisfaction of giving it all in the court and controlling the mind and body is another level of feeling for me. Also, there’s no better feeling of the air a motorcycle produces, where nothing matters but the road.

Our DNA

Ya, we're a bunch of growth oriented, metric driven, type A, continuous improvement drivers, who enjoy knocking out tasks and having some fun in the process. Yet as a team, our discussions revolve around MVP (Minimum Viable Product), and how we are delivering measurable value for our customers.  It’s why we have the policy that if we don’t deliver value you don’t pay.  It’s why we hire people that are:

Build Trust We display character and competence, building long-term relationships through transparency, mutual respect, and our consistent ability to deliver results.
Be Selfless We exhibit adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to take on the challenges of others and guide them to positive outcomes. To always do the right thing even if we suffer in the process. To put others first.
Always Improve We exude a bias for “Yes” with a desire to make things better. It is the courage and bravery to forge new paths and try new things, knowing failure is only a bump on the path to growth.
Fight for Others We lead the charge and are dauntless in our approach to accomplishing our clients’ goals. Tirelessly elevating our own skills to support our team members and clients. Prepared at all times to answer the call.
